Hello! My name is Tori! I'm the section leader of the low-winds and altos and have been since my sophomore year (senior year this year) My main instrument is the tenor saxophone, but I have played all low-winds in some sort of band at some point. My teacher comes up to me the first day of band camp and tells me that the sousaphones have quit and he has NO bass line. At all. He then tells me that he needs a bari. I'm good at the bari, and I have no issue holding up my tenor so I thought I would give it a whirl for my senior year. Problem is I'm 5'2 so I look ridiculous, my back is aching and I keep getting sooo dizzy. I wouldn't mind all of this besides the fact I am section leader to four freshmen. I just want some advice, just some tips to get me through this season. Quitting is not an option. My band needs me to play bari so I will play bari and not whine about it and I will be amazing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! =)
