First post here, also the ORIGINAL clarinet. Write that down somewhere...
ANYWAY, how do you play 16th notes in 12/8 time and how do you count it? I'm currently learning to play a solo that's quite difficult for my level.

12/8 is a compound quadruple meter, meaning that there are four beats in a measure, and that each is split into three eighth notes (The dotted quarter note gets the beat). Each beat would consist of 6 sixteenth notes, and each measure would contain 24.

If there are 6 of them in a beat then there is no way to count them, just like there is no way to count 32nd notes in 4/4 time.

Just count number names and count the beats. "1 2 3 4 5 6 - 2 2 3 4 5 6 - 3 2 3 4 5 6 - 4 2 3 4 5 6"

I guess you could count that way, even though they aren't measure rests.
