Constructive criticism. Lots of it. I've already finished my freshman year of marching band, but winter percussion is just starting up. Depending on the band, you're probably gonna get a lot of constructive criticism that may seem really personal and excluding at times. Just keep it in mind and actually use the advice you're given. The difference between a good player and a bad one is how well someone takes constructive criticism. Good luck!

Hm... I was really confused my freshman year, and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. There was a lot to take in, and I was expected to do a lot more than I had even done before musically. But it was doable. Just be open to working at it and improving and you'll have a great time. Experiences will vary from pit to pit, but as long as you're willing to put the work in to succeed, you'll be fine.

Whatever you do, DO NOT eat the brownies that they give you.

Exactly. Depending on the people really. Just try and be friendly, and DON'T BE BOSSY! That's a big one. I mean, just because they're a higher grade than you doesn't mean they no more. But don't tell them that
