I don't play a double reed instrument, but if I did, I would play oboe, just saying.

the bassoon just has too many thumb keys, i would never want to learn it.

I vote for English Horn, simply because it has a lovely sound. Bassoon is nice, and I envy you guys because you instruments/reeds aren't as finicky as the oboe's.

I vote for English Horn, simply because it has a lovely sound. Bassoon is nice, and I envy you guys because you instruments/reeds aren't as finicky as the oboe's. But Oboes and Bassoons share the common frustrations of making the reeds, do we not?
